January Conclusion

For January, I vowed not to talk about people behind their backs. For the most part, it worked. I completely recommend everyone to try this out. You’ll feel better about yourself.

Thundercats are Go!

It’s official: Juno is one of my favorite movies. Awesome. I’ve seen it twice at this point and it is as hilarious as it is touching. The dialog is witty and sarcastic beyond belief, the cast is instantly lovable, and the soundtrack is enjoyable. I recommend that everyone goes out to see it. In my mind, it’s the new Garden State – it has the same feel.

Anyone else have thoughts about it?

Ted Demopoulos on Effective Internet Presence

Just listened to a great interview on the Financial Aid Podcast that dealt with managing one’s online presence. The information is great, and I recommend that every online citizen, especially those who are on the job market, take a listen. It’s about eighteen minutes long.

Tim Kirk’s Lyra Signed Print

I won BridgeToTheStars.net‘s contest to receive a beautiful print of Lyra from The Golden Compass. It is quite beautiful and I’m elated to have won. Those guys at BridgeToTheStars.net are awesome. Click the thumbnail for a bigger version, but I assure you, it looks much better on paper.

Macworld Expo 2008

I want two things from MacWorld:

  1. Mac OS X 10.5.2. I’m having a few problems with Leopard right now. It’s great, but Spaces has glitches and USB drives don’t eject as quickly as I’d like them to.
  2. A new ultra-portable MacBook. I don’t need a computer right now, but it would be nice to know that the future is shiny.

There are reports of a leaked Steve Jobs keynote flying around. If they’re true, I’m excited.

PhotoBook

PhotoBook is a Facebook photo browser for Mac. It makes it easy and fun to manage, share, and view your friends’ Facebook photos in one intuitive interface.

Mac users just have to try this application. It’s a great example of web services crossing over with desktop applications. I’m looking forward to more social applications like this. My favorite other mac desktop applications leveraging facebook include Facebook Exporter for iPhoto and FacebookSync.
